Another good reason

Another good reason for my having cancelled my account with sympatico (in case I needed another one):

I called earlier in the week to cancel my account.   The guy say, sure, but I'd have to give 30 days notice so it wouldn't take affect until May 2nd.   He said this would be good because I'd have time to let everyone know that my email address was changing.  I said, great, fine, good idea.

Yesterday I could no longer access that email account.   It's a good thing I'd been working on letting everyone know the address was changing for months already.   This is yet another example of how they've been telling me one thing and doing something completely different.

The big reason I cancelled in the first place was that they told me twice that I could have a $5/month email only account and then turned around and kept charging me $15/month.

The email service itself was fine; I never had any issues accessing my account.  But, heaven help you if you ever want to change anything.

Bye bye, Sympatico.

... and BON VOYAGE!

i hate sympatico too. i know quite a few people who have had misfortunes with them.

Hi there. :)

I was really quite torn with sympatico: their service was pretty good once everything was set up. I just loathed having to get on the phone to change something. We're still using K's sympatico account for internet access but I'm going to try someone else soon (thinking of yak). If I disappear for an extended period it means the plan didn't work out as expected. ;)

yeah, that's the consensus. lots of luck dealing with them on the phone.
