It's official

I've been approved in the new place so I'm officially moving as of February 15th. In just over a month I'll be moving way out to Main and Danforth. It's a smaller building (only 100+ suites rather than 500+) and is situated just steps north of Taylor Creek Park. I should be able to be rollerblading within a minute of stepping out of the apartment building. The apartment is cheaper than this one but is larger. It has two bedrooms (one of which will become my office) and a *much* larger kitchen. I won't have a view to speak of but it's lower (third floor) so I won't be as worried about letting the cats out on the balcony. It faces north so I won't get the hot morning sun scorching everything in sight. And it's much closer to the lovely and talented Katherine. :)

Faith in human nature reaffirmed

I got a late Christmas present today.

I had left my backpack on a bus on Saturday night. It had my sound canceling headphones and digital camera, etc. in it and everything. I had put it between my feet while riding and forgotten to pick it up as I left. I didn't realize until hours later when we were ready to go home. It seemed very unlikely that I would ever see any of the contents or the nice MEC knapsack itself ever again.

Today when the Lost Articles office for the TTC opened I was there asking for my bag. They said there was a bag coming in later in the afternoon and that I should call to check. I called and it sounded like they had my bag.

I raced down to see it and, glory be, it was mine! And, bonus, amazing, startling: everything was still inside!

Apparently the bus driver had found it; probably at the end of the route. Who knows how many people would have seen it or sat next to it until he spotted it. Truly amazing.

I am very thankful for the bus driver finding it and everyone else for respecting a strangers property! Toronto rules! I'm sure I used up a lot of Karma points with this little stunt, heh.

Have a happy new year!
