A few shots I got while doing an assignment for my Power Of Light class near Queens Park on Saturday. They were performing a gun salute as a tribute to fallen soldiers during the Remembrance Day Ceremonies.

what i wanna know is did these guys flinch when the gun went off...imagine hearing these things going off all around you for hours on end...shell shock is a good word for it...
I didn't see them flinch (most of the guys I could see were wearing earplugs) but I sure as heck did. Those things are friggen loud! I was talking to someone there who said that the real shells (they were shooting blanks, thankfully) are louder yet and also release a tremendous pressure/shock wave when the projectile leaves the barrel.
Whats your email address? I missed your birthday and now I'm scrambling to email you something.
Hey Kate!
john AT greyfence DOT com will get to me. :)
John, as per my usual i misplaced your email address... but I wanted to tell you that Juliette the cat had the visit of the catsitter you use on Sunday - lady bredin herself will be visiting over Xmas (as she lives right on our street). It was instant love! Within minutes Juliette was trying to climb up the woman's legs and twisting her neck to get a better view of the stranger's face!
Thanks for the recommendation...
