Just got a 'confirmation' email for my poor departed fish confirming the purchase of a Sony laptop on his credit card. Heaven knows it must be boring in fish heaven but I wonder if they have a place to plug in the computer up there.

i note that the cn tower has 1,716 steps, and the empire state building something like 1,874. the cn tower claims to be the tallest building in the world. i take it the ESB steps must be somewhat less steep. I am fantasizing about climbing them on my upcoming visit. For free, at that.
I've always heard that the CN Tower has 1,776 steps which I thought was so patriotic even if for the wrong country. The height of the tower is measured quite a bit higher than the point where the stairs end (at the lower viewing level) so it's very plausible that the ESB has more. I'm very surprised that they allow people to climb the stairs at the ESB since the security there is so tight. I had my bag xrayed twice on the way to the elevator I think.
well, it rurns out that they don't allow us to climb all the way up. just the stairs between the two desks, and even there just on some days.
this project might have to be a hush-hush "urban exploration" expedition...
