Blue Man Memories
Seeing these bags in front of the Blue Man Group theatre made me laugh. If you've attended one of their shows you'll know immediately what's in them!

little things that you put between your toes while your paint your nails?
leftover communion wafers?
those pads the dentist uses to keep your gums out of the way?

Communion wafers! If they threw those they could take someone's eye out!
Posted by: John at January 16, 2006 11:50 AM
ah-AH!
so these things, whatever they are, are being thrown!
are they... could... they... be... little silk origami things?
Posted by: elise at January 16, 2006 11:59 AM
little silk origami things would be way cooler than what it actually is. think cheap and expendable. ;)

(i just wanna say, i think king kong is based on a real story.)
they look sort of square-shaped. i've just been reading reviews of the show, hoping someone would mention them. no luck.

think of whole rows of square shaped things ... perforations between ...
Posted by: John at January 16, 2006 01:55 PM
soup crackers?
i think it may be something that i've never seen before.
Posted by: elise at January 16, 2006 02:03 PM
Um, I'm fairly sure (hopeful) that you have seen it before... (Think bathroom.)
Posted by: John at January 16, 2006 02:08 PM
you mean rolls of tp? wow, i was so wrong about the dimensions. are those the cardboard center?
yes, i have seen those before, perhaps even used them. in fact i was recently on a serious quest to find some canadian company that produces it in colour - i like pink. i've lst seen it in france, but here never. Anyone?
Posted by: Elise at January 16, 2006 02:28 PM
Coloured toilet paper eh? I've gotta admit its been many many years since I've seen coloured TP... I seem to recall that you could get it in pink blue and yellow... hmmm...
Posted by: Kerry at January 16, 2006 02:51 PM
...but for the record, its not wrong about putting it between your toes to apply nail polish. TP has most definitely been used for that purpose. :)
Posted by: Kerry at January 16, 2006 02:52 PM
in france they have it in several crazy colours, lime green, pink, i saw deep purple in montmartre (the kitchen appliances, also, come in incredible colours). it's even available in black, but i haven't had the pleasure (something unsettling about dark tp, no?).
a touch of fantasy that quite contrasts with those turkish toilets.
Posted by: Elise at January 16, 2006 03:35 PM
Lime green? Well now I could certainly see my way to buying THAT coloured TP every now and then. But wouldn't coloured TP 'match' the turkish toilets? ...what does a turkis toilet look like anyway? hmmm... I'm gonna google it! Damn I love google!

I should have guessed this thread would go down this road ...

Yeah. Thanks for coming out John. ;)

Yeah. Thanks for coming out John. ;)

i actually like turkish toilets. apparently admitting to that is just not done, but i do. i think they're hygienic (where maintained regularly of course) and comfortable.
anyhoo.
Posted by: Elise at January 17, 2006 09:02 AM
Isn't using a turkish toilet like squatting in the woods?
Posted by: John at January 17, 2006 09:33 AM
Judging from the pics I found, they do appear to be the 'squat' variety fo toilet. I suppose in some respects they can be considered hygenic (regular maintanence and cleansing assumed), but in other respects... um... not so much. Awkward... uh
Posted by: kerry at January 17, 2006 10:14 AM
yes, one is squatting. some of the ones i've seen (and used), includig in upscale bars in Paris, were very clean (which does entail looking after the thing almost constantly, i guess). that position actually suits whatever action one is taking, i swear!
Posted by: Elise at January 17, 2006 02:49 PM
lol, I'll have to take your word on that one! :) I mean, I've been camping, I know how it works, but somehow it seems easier in the woods when ...things are... uh... I can't even finish this thought!
Posted by: kerry at January 17, 2006 02:56 PM
I would think this operation would be easier when wearing a skirt (or billowing robes) than in pants...
Posted by: John at January 17, 2006 03:46 PM
Something 'billowy' would be the worst thing! Imagine it was a windy day! ick!
Besides, we gals are professionals at this, pants shmantz! :)
Posted by: kerry at January 17, 2006 04:20 PM
Pants shmantz ... I couldn't agree more!
Posted by: John at January 18, 2006 10:40 AM
Seriously, its easier to control pants when using the forest as a toilet! ...not that I've tried camping in a billowy skirt, so in all honestly I can't say that I've tested this.
Posted by: kerry at January 18, 2006 12:37 PM
It just seems to me that it would be easier to hold a skirt up out of the way. I'll have to try my own squat testing to see if I'm right, I guess.
Posted by: John at January 18, 2006 12:46 PM
Not a billowy skirt though. Nu-uh!
Posted by: kerry at January 18, 2006 01:13 PM
so here's what we do: the billowy skirt for kerry, the pencil skirt for john, and i'll just wear a pair of office trousers. let's all have some all bran muffins one windy night then head for the woods and give it a whirl.
not a perfect scientific setup, since the woods won't have pedals, but still! could make for a nice peter paul and mary moment, no?
Posted by: Elise at January 18, 2006 02:10 PM
Which of us would be Mary?
Posted by: kerry at January 18, 2006 02:28 PM
that sounds like a plan. but, won't a pencil skirt make my butt look big?
Posted by: John at January 18, 2006 02:29 PM
We'll compromise and get you one with a tulip hem. Very flattering.
