The streak in the lower left corner might be a pic of a meteor during the Perseid Meteor shower. Or a plane ... or a satellite ... or someone using a laser pointer. (Who would do that?)

While on the pool theme

Here is a picture of the flies on one pool table we played on this past weekend. The table was covered with them. Didn't seem to affect the play though.

Brian says "i'm surprised you haven't posted about kicking my ass yet". Good things come to those who wait. ;) Brian and I played pool last night and I opened a can of wup ass on him! It was great to play on the fullsized pool tables again just to see if all my and Katherine's playing during the summer on the smaller bar tables had helped or hurt my ability on the large tables. Apparently it did no harm at least. ;)

There ya go, Brian; I've told the world.

Camping Pictures

Pictures from the wonderful camping trip this past weekend. The personal highlight of the trip for me was the time spent swimming in the lake. I really do miss spending summer vacations just floating about in the wet stuff.

In other news

In other news, the sore throat and lack of voice I've been experiencing for the past two weeks (can you say annoying cough) has been diagnosed as merely a run of the mill infection and I have antibiotics to fix it. Should be right as rain in a week. Acquiring the prescription for the drugs was the result of a 5 minute visit with the doctor. After a two and a half hour wait in his waiting room. Then there was the three quarters of an hour waiting in the drugstore for the prescription to be filled. All and all quite the waste of an afternoon.

Why can doctors get away with making you wait that long? The *normal* wait for my doctor is an hour and some minutes. He was running behind yesterday. Still even making us wait and hour as normal seems grossly unfair. Is his time worth more than mine? Not happy about that. Didn't mention it to him, of course. He's such a nice guy and he gives me drugs...

There once was a girl from Kentucky...

Well, she's not really from Kentucky but some of her family is and Kentucky sounded better than Germany. Anyway, I've been busy with a wonderful woman and have been too busy to write. I'm sure I'll have all kinds of stories to tell shortly though. Stay tuned. ;)

Tenting tip

If you're going to set up a tent in your livingroom make sure the door is facing in *before* you set it up

cuz it's a bitch to turn it afterwards...
