And while we're on the subject...

This is a poster about a TTC employee which I see all over the place. There is something about how this woman is holding the broom that makes me think she's a big hit with the guys...

Because she can sweep floors?

Posted by: kerry at July 10, 2006 12:45 PM

Um, yeah ... guys really don't like to clean ... way to figure it out Kerry...

Posted by: John at July 10, 2006 12:54 PM

some guys like to clean.

Posted by: kerry at July 10, 2006 02:24 PM

... and knit too. How many guys are in your knitting meetup group?

Posted by: John at July 10, 2006 02:40 PM

you know what though...

i'm thinking, a cleaning group! right! a place where people would discuss solutions and share tips for removing bad stains or saving time on doing the bathroom floor before a date or something!

i'm loving this more and more.

I'm all for hanging out at a pub and *talking about* cleaning... Maybe we could get Shirley here to come and give a talk about all her cleaning experiences...

Posted by: John at July 10, 2006 03:13 PM

see, already you're one dude who'd have to be weeded out of the group, pronto. you see this as some laid-back opportunity to "hang out", maybe meet a devoted female cleaner or two. i'm talking about growing, and through a commonality of cleaning challenges addressed in creative ways, learning to, well, live a little more spotlessly.

Posted by: elise at July 10, 2006 03:21 PM

a PUB!!! those places are filthy!

Posted by: elise at July 10, 2006 03:26 PM

'Filthy' is such a negative sounding word ... couldn't we say 'cleanliness challenged'? And it's so subjective ... one person's filth is another person's comfortably sloven.

he he he

Posted by: elise at July 10, 2006 05:16 PM

Kerry on cleaning: Comet. That's all you need.

Kerry on pubs: mmmm... pubs!

Posted by: kerry at July 11, 2006 09:52 AM

i don't have comet. i will buy comet!

i use a variety of different things, and it's expensive and time-consuming (you have to change techniques dpeending on the product).

there should be something out there that you simply brandish in each room and that somehow attaches itself on surfaces and does the job for ya. now that would be an invention.

Posted by: elise at July 11, 2006 10:04 AM

that would be a fine product indeed! and sure, comet isn't necessarily good on floors... but that's what Mr. Clean is for!

I clean 'old school'.

Posted by: kerry at July 11, 2006 01:20 PM

Isn't that 'product' called a 'maid'?

Posted by: John at July 11, 2006 01:35 PM

I've heard of those! Apparently though, you have to brandish 50 to 70 bucks to get one. I haven't been able to make one appear in my place.

Posted by: elise at July 11, 2006 02:30 PM

$70? Hey, if something is worth doing it's worth paying someone to do it well!

Posted by: John at July 11, 2006 03:56 PM

I'm telling you, Comet and Mr. Clean are all you need!

...and a swiffer. ;)

Posted by: kerry at July 11, 2006 04:56 PM

Swiffers are teh bomb. Why did it take them so long to come up with a papertowel on a stick?

Posted by: John at July 12, 2006 02:04 PM

They had to come up with a jazzy name. These things take time.

Posted by: kerry at July 12, 2006 03:28 PM

I think 'Paper Towel On A Pole' has a nice ring to it. PTOAP for short.

Posted by: John at July 12, 2006 03:39 PM

It would have to have a ring to it, otherwise you'd never get the paper towel to stick to the pole.

Posted by: kerry at July 13, 2006 03:51 PM

Okay John. Time for a new post. ;)

Posted by: kerry at July 13, 2006 03:53 PM

ptoap!

Posted by: John at July 13, 2006 03:54 PM

How would one pronounce that, I wonder. Hmmm.

Posted by: kerry at July 13, 2006 04:58 PM

taupe (silent p, oa as a long o).

Posted by: elise at July 14, 2006 09:41 AM

taupe. ah yes. My mother's favourite colour. Well done John.
