Pool update
So, shockingly, my pool team is going into the second level of the finals next week. Our best player was off on vacation or some such other excuse. What really worked in our favour was that the other team spent considerable time drinking shots. I think we're going to encourage all our opponents to get silly drunk before playing us from now on. I, myself, had one bad game (2 points) which could have been worse cuz the guy was running the table but sewered on his last ball which gave me an opportunity to get a couple of points before he finished me off. The rest of the games were reasonable: a 6, a 7 and I won one. Not bad considering our team got into the shot spirit for a bit as well. ;) We'll see how things go next week ... I will be *very* surprised if we go on to the third week. As in: it ain't gonna happen.

Forget winning! Drinking + pool = FUN! Sounds like they have their priorities right and you need to re-assess your priorities:)

Ah yes - I know which team you were playing, and they do indeed prefer da booze to the serious business of recreational pool. We beat them the week before by a mere 2 points.
Our team made it to the 2nd round too (by a 3 point win), but I doubt we'll sustain ourselves beyond that - we got a LOT of points due to my 3-handicap and I can't be there on Tuesday. *sigh*
