the thing on the right has the same blue pastic material with little shiny things that they used to use to make bicycle seats.

It does look like banana bicycle seat material in the pic but it's actually thin thread wound around the shaft ... like the handle of a good fishing rod. I may have to get my close up lenses out to do it justice. :)

and i can easily imagine john's reaction to being handed this thing. cause dude, you have a smile that can light up an entire room. or a good area anyway. that's cause you smile with everything at once, eyes, lips and bounciness.
