Bedtime

Nothing makes going to bed so enjoyable as having nice freshly brushed teeth.

Nothing?

Posted by: kerry at February 2, 2006 09:38 AM

yeah? what about freshly laundered tee and boxers, and someone to exchange thie day's highlights with and who will then tell you a tale while you're falling asleep?

Posted by: Elise at February 2, 2006 10:45 AM

Which is made all the more enjoyable by delightfully minty breath.

Posted by: John at February 2, 2006 11:26 AM

What if you use that orange flavoured toothpaste?

Posted by: kerry at February 2, 2006 11:33 AM

and stuff?

Posted by: Elise at February 2, 2006 12:51 PM

Yeah John! What about the stuff!

Posted by: kerry at February 2, 2006 01:25 PM

Minty stuff?

Posted by: John at February 2, 2006 01:33 PM

There's more to live and toothpaste then mint.

Posted by: kerry at February 2, 2006 02:06 PM

'life', rather.

Posted by: kerry at February 2, 2006 02:07 PM

Perhaps but the point is that life (and sleep and necking) is BETTER when minty.

Posted by: John at February 2, 2006 02:59 PM

mint, orange, licorice... the thing is, dudes, is that without the right companion, it just don't matter the flavour. actually, with the right companion it don't matter, either. this is the problem, the trial of just about every consumer product out there: we gain choice but we lose sight of the fact that this stuff is slowly replacing true love. gosh, don't get me started.

Posted by: Elise at February 2, 2006 03:10 PM

You speak nothing but the truth. Start away, I say!

Posted by: kerry at February 2, 2006 03:12 PM

ouf! ok. i feel a little better now. i spent a few minutes sitting on the floor in a corner, sucking my thumb and weeping. 'xcuse me while i blow my nose. alright. so true love, let's see. the thing that makes you run away, if you're anything like me! a gut fear of being as lost close to the other person as you are away from them, know what i mean? anyone know how to negociate that turn?

Posted by: Elise at February 2, 2006 03:22 PM

you're asking the wrong kid THAT question! lol single-ness is a reeeeeeeeeal comfort zone. Not necessarily prefered, but comfortable and habit forming.

Posted by: kerry at February 2, 2006 03:52 PM

you know, i'm thinking maybe this is where the virtues of safe, familiar consumer goods does come in... how heartbreaking can the world really be when you're sitting in the dark watching Dave Letterman with a huge bowl of Alpha Bits on your lap, seriously?

Posted by: Elise at February 2, 2006 04:13 PM

I didn't realize my nocturnal niceties would lead us here!

I personally believe that it's important that one should be able to enjoy minty breath with or without a companion. While I love having tales told by a cozy companion as I'm dropping to sleep, I can also enjoy the cool cleanliness all on my ownsome.

Posted by: John at February 2, 2006 04:25 PM

And may I also say this, I love reading your responses!

Posted by: John at February 2, 2006 04:26 PM

Alphabits are definitely one of the worlds greatest comforts. ...and they're not even minty!

Posted by: Kerry at February 2, 2006 10:14 PM

Alphabits are magnificent. i worry constantly that they're disappearing, as Dominion seems to be the only store that still has them relatively constantly. i suppose Frootloops could do the job, in a panic, but A. Bits are so much more fascinating!

anyway. a rainy but mild day, which i hope is a great one for y'all.

Posted by: Elise at February 3, 2006 09:17 AM

I used to eat Alphabits when I was a kid - its a rare situation when I get to enjoy them (dog sitting at my uncle's place last weekend... got some bits!...thank goodness for 9 yr old cousins!).
Can't do the loops though. Anything that tastes like fruit that isn't actually a bit of raw fruit is something I prefer to avoid. (and yes, that includes jams, pies, etc. Cooked fruit, processed fruit... yuk!).

Honey Nut Cheerios! Now, there's a cereal!

Posted by: kerry at February 3, 2006 10:12 AM

That's an interesting aversion you got there. Good thing chocolate is not a fruit. I understand that the host of this blog (code name: John) lives very close to a place I had no idea even existed: The Cupcake Shoppe. It must be hard to be him.

Posted by: Elise at February 3, 2006 10:35 AM

Cupcake Shoppe? lol, that's awesome. :)

Yeah, my family is famous for weird food aversions. For instance my brother won't eat anything white.

Posted by: kerry at February 3, 2006 11:36 AM

You know in my sad little life I've never even tried Alphabits. And now I learn that I'm within loping distance of a Cupcake Shoppe?

Posted by: John at February 3, 2006 11:45 AM

yeah, but I'm sure you enjoy cooked fruit and foods that are white. Things could be worse.

Posted by: kerry at February 3, 2006 11:55 AM

Yes, cooked fruit (apple pie!) and white (can't think of anything!) are fine with me. I may be averse to eating things that used to be cute, i.e. calves, lambs, kittens, those sorts of things.

Posted by: John at February 3, 2006 12:02 PM

white... milk, chocolate, alfredo sauce, yogurt, banana's, dragon fruit (new discovery of mine! yum!)...did I mention alfredo sauce? mmm...

Unpleasant to think about eating kittens. Thanks for putting that image into my head! ugh!

speaking of cats, you should enter a picture of your one (or both) of your cats to this site:

potatoes, rice, most dairy, white bread... good for your brother.

that's right: The Cupcake Shoppe, 2417 Yonge. must be dreamy.

Posted by: Elise at February 3, 2006 12:31 PM

hey, i know the cat website! Kerry, i believe i might have hear about it first on your own. it's fun.

Posted by: Elise at February 3, 2006 12:33 PM

>> i believe i might have hear about it first on your own.

This probably made perfect sense in the original Swahili.

My cats would never tolerate having stuff on them long enough to take a pic...

Posted by: John at February 3, 2006 12:44 PM

Elise, it sounds good for him at first, except for his love of mini pizza's and bbq chips with vinegar...

John, there's always a way to get stuff on cats. Once someone submitted a photo of a cat that had an other cat on top of it.

Posted by: kerry at February 3, 2006 12:49 PM

i.e., "on your own website". dude. what's wrong?

Posted by: Elise at February 3, 2006 12:59 PM

and don't you be like that with me, young man.

for your trouble, it'll be one dozen cupcakes from the Cupcake Shoppe. Mixed flavours.

Posted by: Elise at February 3, 2006 01:05 PM

Oooooooooooh MY website! lol Ok. :)

What's wrong with me? NOt a thing - its Friday and I'm happy! woo!

Posted by: kerry at February 3, 2006 01:23 PM

>> for your trouble, it'll be one dozen cupcakes from the Cupcake Shoppe. Mixed flavours.

That's a lot of cupcakes, Cupcake.

Posted by: John at February 3, 2006 01:37 PM

You'd better get shoppin' then! ;)

Posted by: kerry at February 3, 2006 04:06 PM

why, suggesting that i express myself in english like a swahili native speaker, that was a lot of trauma!

but you're in luck : i just had a grab bag of double hit Kernels popcorn, so i guess you're off the hook.

Posted by: Elise at February 3, 2006 04:33 PM

I find you even more amazing now that I know that as well as all your other talents you also can speak Swahili.

Posted by: John at February 3, 2006 04:46 PM

oh shut up.

Posted by: Elise at February 3, 2006 04:56 PM
