Dead people

It turns out this weekend had a dead people theme. On Saturday morning my photoclub had an outing to Mt Pleasant Cemetery and tonight I went to see that movie with the vampire chick in leather. Ok, honestly, it was more about the leather than the dead people, but still...

Any leather?

I saw underworld last night myself. ...I'm thinking its more likely vinyl then leather, actually...

You know, I wondered. I read a review by Geoff Pevere in The Star praising the leather outfit (and little else) and so I was swayed to thinking it was leather. But it did move more like vinyl. And, believe me, I was watching closely.

Pevere's review was the funniest thing I've read in the paper for quite a while. My favourite line:

"The fact is that if leather is the best thing to happen to vampire movies since Technicolor blood, then Kate Beckinsale is the best thing to happen to leather since cows."

Oh, and, hey, what ever possessed you to see this??

no leather whatsoever. big baggy dresses for ms. binoche in caché, and thw classic cashmere tweed combo for the tennis set of matchpoint (a few juicy scenes in that one though).

I've always loved vampire movies. :) It was a good movie, but I would have liked it more if there was more intrigue rather then bloody fighting though.

...I also watched Anchorman and March of the Penguins this weekend. I'm a renaissance woman.

Kerry, did you flip out for March of the penguins? wasn't it just too much?

And also, I have a vivid memory of seeing Anchorman. I was in distress at the time, with my cat Juliette on her deathbed, and I went to see this to have a laugh. Boy, did i laugh! i thought i was going to throw up. right next to me was a couple, with the girl on my side, and she was laughing as much as i was but her boyfriend sat through the whole thing w.o. a chuckle. i'm still mystified at both the entirely personal nature of what's "funny", and at how a couple with such different views on that can survive.

Elise, I've always had a fondness for penguins, but now that I've seen this movie I love them even more!! Amazing creatures! Are they birds? Are they fish? Are they people? Who knows! hehe

Anchorman was funny for sure! I love Will Farrell - and of course the rest of the cast was great! Luke Wilson and Ben Stiller! Damn! woo!

You're right about that couple I think. My guess is that couple didn't survive. :)

Note to self: never take a date to a Will Farrell movie.

nor to a movie where the lead character is wearing poured-on vinyl.

Oh, hey, good tip. I should have probably figured that one out for myself...
